Felice Cavallotti (Milano, 6th December 1842 – Roma, 6th March 1898) was an Italian writer, a patriot and a politician. He fought in the battles of Milazzo and Volturno (1860) and he wrote as a journalist and director in several periodical papers; he also collaborated in Garibaldi’s army.
The bust was made by the sculptor Tullio Montini and it was inaugurated in 1909: the work was first located on the wall of palazzo del Capitanio towards piazza dell’Indipendenza. The patriot is portrayed with a proud look and he has an Italian flag in his hands. The work is in good state of preservation but it isn’t illuminated well.
