Church of SS.Pietro e Paolo
Via Mesdì, Arabba , Livinallongo del Col di Lana - 32020
The church of Arabba dedicated to the saints Peter and Paul, was consacreted on 11th september 1664. It is situated in the centre of the town and it constitutes a rare exemple of building passed unscathed during the World War I, which destroyed most of territory of Livinallongo. The artwork inside of the church have been preserved as the superior altar dedicated to the saints Peter and Paul, the two lateral altars dedicated to saint Joseph and the Virgin Mary of Monte Carmelo, important mural pictures achieved by J.M. Pescoller at the beginning of 1900. The building in late gothic style has a stonegate and a bell tower with a clock. The church of Arabba is already mentioned in the first decades of 1300, but at that time it was posted further west and it seems to have been the first worship building in the valley. At a later time the church has been moved and rebuilt in the current position; in 1681 a later chapel was added to the main building.
