San Bortolo, historically known as San Bartolomeo delle Montagne, is a hamlet of Selva di Progno and one of the 13 Cimbrian municipalities of Lessinia. The village is the starting point of a suggestive itinerary that crosses the rugged and scenic Val Tanara and some of the characteristic districts of this territory. Small signs of popular art, such as capital posts, crosses, and votive niches, will accompany us along the way in these borderlands of upper Val d’Illasi.
