This park, originally a botanical garden, represents a rare surviving example of the many gardens that in the Seventeenth Century lined the Cannaregio canal. It originated from the merging of the ancient gardens of the adjacent Savorgnan and Manfrin palaces.
Indeed, it is located exactly behind Palazzo Savorgnan, a building completed at the end of the Seventeenth Century by the architect Giuseppe Sardi, and is just a few steps away from the Guglie Bridge, a few hundred meters from the Santa Lucia train station.
Today it is one of the largest public parks in the city, about 9500 square meters, characterized by a beautiful lawn with soft slopes, equipped with benches along the tree-lined paths, two drinking fountains (one of which is at the access path), a playground for children, and fitness equipment. Integrated into the setting, amidst the vegetation, are valuable historical architectural elements.
Inside, there is also an area dedicated to dogs of various sizes.
Access is also available from an entrance located in a side street of Campo San Geremia. The park is a few hundred meters from the Santa Lucia train station, along Lista di Spagna, near the monumental field of San Geremia; access to Veritas public restrooms is available approximately 150 meters away (San Leonardo).
