You will have the opportunity to visit some of the rooms on Villa's ground floor, whose origins date back to the beginning of the 16th century, when Giacomo Badoer, a politician and merchant of the Venetian Republic, decided to build a summer residence after having bought some land in the area of Sambruson. Although the original architectural structure has been partly modified, the solemnity of this elegant residence and the characteristic atmosphere that marked the typical lifestyle Venetian decadent period have remained intact.
You will also visit the "Museo del Villano" inside the barchesse, an interesting ethnographic museum with a collection of more than 30,000 antique tools that tell the story of arts and crafts of the past. You will discover a fascinating display of rural tools, such as those of the farmer and the woodcutter, as well as various kitchen utensils, cellar tools, carts and carriages.
You will stroll through the beautiful 20,000 square foot garden, decorated with statues and period marble, which houses the villa and its outbuildings. On the side that overlooks the Naviglio you will walk along a charming path that ends with a wrought-iron gate and beautiful statues, while on the other side you will discover the villa's vast park and its small but lovely pond.
