In the 15th century, the parish of Sambruson expanded its religious jurisdiction to include the villa of Alture di Sambruson (between via Badoera and Paluello) and Sambruson Torre, over the remaining Ambrosian territory.
The parish also encompassed a narrow lenticular-shaped area north of the Brenta that had previously been an island but had subsequently merged with the territories of Ca' del Bosco, taking the name of the island of Maltempo (which extends to the current via Dauli and the intersection of via Dauli with via Cairoli, up to the entrance of the old civil hospital).
The name is due to the frequent floods caused by the river's overflow that characterized the area.
