Tenuta Delo – Rural Estate

Piazza Bra, 1 , Verona - 37121

Palazzo Barbieri (della Gran Guardia Nuova or the Town Hall), built in the first half of the 19th century by the engineer Giuseppe Barbieri, as the seat of the Austrian Civil Guard, is a large neoclassical building, inspired by the forms of the ancient Roman temples (it has a Corinthian colonnade and pronaos and a large triangular pediment). Inside are two large canvases by Paolo Farinati and Felice Brusasorci illustrating episodes in the history of Verona. It has been the municipal seat since 1869.

The Hall of Tapestries is located on the main floor of Palazzo Barbieri, takes its name from the precious artifacts that were placed there after World War II, is furnished with two huge paintings of the late sixteenth century. The first, on the long wall opposite the windows, depicts Supper in the House of Levi, a work from the workshop of Veronese and is attributed by critics to Benedetto and Carletto Caliari. The second canvas, on the smaller wall, is a work by Paolo Farinati representing the Victory of the Veronese over Frederick Barbarossa's troops.

The reservation refers exclusively to the room chosen for the time indicated. The access route to the hall is defined according to the concurrence of events and may be subject to last minute changes.
