The Fonda Savio Refuge is a true family business! In fact, it is named after the three children, Piero, Paolo, and Sergio Fonda-Savio, who died during World War II; the three brothers were the sons of the partisan fighter Antonio Fonda-Savio and his wife Letizia Svevo, daughter of the famous Italian writer Italo Svevo.
The structure is easily accessible making it the perfect destination for a day trip; it is also the starting and ending point for many hikes and excursions in the Dolomites: for example, the Giro dei Cadini, the Bonacossa Trail, the Wundt Tower, and many others!
