Between 1915 and 1917, long and bloody battles between the Italian and Austrian armies took place here. In 1964, based on a design by engineer Floriano Dall'Armi, the small church was built to commemorate the many dead, wounded and acts of heroism performed by the soldiers. The altarpiece is sculpted by Talete Costi and depicts the Madonna placed between two soldiers, one fatally wounded and the other in the act of praying. The work, placed behind the altar, well interprets the sacredness of the place.
