Monument "delle aquile"

The fountain-monument, erected in the centre of Sernaglia della Battaglia's main square, commemorates the massive exodus that followed the two World Wars.
The inscription " Alla nostra gente sparsa nel mondo come il grano" (To our people scattered around the world like wheat) is engraved on the base, commemorating the citizens of Sernaglia who were scattered around the world to work. To commemorate the expatriates, an urn containing bags of soil from different countries has been placed in the ground.
