1° Day
At 9:30 in the morning, after the meeting with the guide, there will be the tour of the famous art gallery inside the birth house of Canova and of the Gypsotheca with its original plasters. THE MUSEUM OF ANTONIO CANOVA is the real image of his art and life. Inside, his memory has been preserved by the will of his brother Giovanni Battista Sartori. In Possagno Canova’s culture can be experienced. It contains his past and future, tradition and innovation. For this reason, the Canova’s Museum and Gypsotheca are opened to the public and offers a combination of museums, one library, and an archive for experts and art enthusiasts. The visit will end at the famous Temple.
In the afternoon, a visit of a wine cellar and tasting of some typical local products and an excellent glass of DOCG Asolo Prosecco Superiore will take place. Typical dinner at a restaurant. Hotel overnight stay.
2° Day
Breakfast at the hotel.
Afterwards, participants will meet the guide and visit the famous Villa Babaro in Maser: it is probably the most impressive among the villas designed by Andrea Palladio, and it perfectly represents the Venetian style of the 1500s from which the villas were created. Moreover, Villa Barbaro holds the masterpiece of one of the most significant Venetian artists: Paolo Veronese. Indeed, the rooms of the villa are decorated with a series of frescos by the painter from Verona.
Free lunch in ASOLO.
In the afternoon, the guided tour of the Marca Trevigiana masterpiece will take place. In Asolo, artists and poets such as Eleonora Duse and Robert Browning sojourned. It is one of the most beautiful hamlets of Italy, a “città slow”, and Orange Flag of the Touring Club. Medieval hamlet, Signoria of Queen Caterina Cornaro, and Renaissance majesty of the Serenissima. The beautiful town of Asolo is indubitably connected to some celebrities who visited the hamlet over time: Queen of Cyprus Caterina Cornaro, the actress Eleonora Duse, the writers Robert Browing and Freya Stark.
