It opened in 1927 as a tavern, but the current name dates back to the ‘50s, when it also introduced the activity of accommodation for strangers in the rooms on the upper floors of the building. Apparently, the name is related to the fact that a bersagliere (Italian military) assiduously attended this place.
The restaurant is run since 1990 by Mr Pietro Leopoldo Ramponi and his family. The cuisine mainly proposes traditional specialities from Verona and the region of Veneto.
The cellar, which dates back to 1200, is particularly relevant: it includes the wine bar and it may be visited by the customers. In the rooms at the basement there are some elements of modern design from the ‘50s, like the espresso machine and the slicer, that are still working.
Interesting facts: the walls are decorated with many photos of celebrities personalized with antiques and various collector’s items, including some fossils.
