The State Archive of Rovigo preserves: documentation produced by pre-unitary peripheral administrations and state offices of the province prior to the last thirty years; archives of suppressed religious corporations; acts of notaries from Rovigo and the province executed from the 14th century until the end of the 19th century; historical archives of non-state public entities voluntarily deposited; private family and personal archives; state school archives.
The State Archive of Rovigo also: - guarantees the preservation and accessibility of the stored documents; - ensures the usability of its documentary heritage also through the implementation and digitization of consultation tools; - promotes the enhancement of the preserved documentary heritage through exhibitions and other scientific activities (conferences, seminars, conventions, publications, and participation in cultural events in collaboration with other entities and institutions), as well as through training and historical research laboratories.
The State Archive of Rovigo also performs the service of PROTECTION of state archives and CONSULTATION for public administrations of the Province. The institution provides constant collaboration and assistance to State Offices for the proper management of archives, even during ongoing and deposit phases, especially through the activity of the Commissions for the supervision of archives. At the request of the competent Superintendency for Archival Heritage of Veneto, it conducts inspections at non-state public offices and private archives.
