Just outside Porta Padova and near the Palladian Villa Pisani, the Loggetta is one of the architectural testimonies that best characterize the so-called Venetian village.
The name of this city area, characterized by an important road that winds its way towards Padua, has been handed down over the centuries in memory of the elegant stately homes which, starting from the Venetian era, were built here.
Dating back to the 16th century, according to some historical interpretations, the Loggetta may originally have been part of the Casa Dominicale flanked by a warehouse and another architectural partition of absolute value. Some scholars, praising the five refined rusticated arches, refer the project to the famous Renaissance architect Giovanni Maria Falconetto.
