Villa Pisani, Unesco heritage since 1996 together with the other Palladian villas, was built around the middle of the 16th century by the famous Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio, commissioned by the Venetian nobleman Francesco Pisani.
The elegant but imposing building was designed to be not only a home, but also a place of representation for the owner in his functions as procurator of the Serenissima, as well as the center of agricultural activities derived from his possessions.
On the main facade, inside the tympanum, stands the noble coat of arms of the Pisans, while the rear side, overlooking a luxuriant garden, is characterized by an airy portico surmounted by a loggia. The large ground floor is embellished with four elegant sculptures made by Alessandro Vittoria, depicting the Four Seasons.
