The ancient church of S. Maria Assunta, located on Rossignago street, was built in the 10th-11th century as the mother church of the Spinea territory, equipped with a baptismal font and directly subject to the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Treviso.
The wear of time and the damage caused by various clashes between armies that passed through the Spinea territory almost entirely destroyed it.
Reconstructed almost from the foundations in 1382 at the behest of Bishop Pietro da Baone, it soon transformed into a countryside church and a center of Marian worship. Despite being damaged, the fresco of the Madonna della rosa, attributed to Federico Tedesco, is remarkable.
