In Marconi Square, the statue of Endymion proudly showcases itself above a small fountain. The monument, which dates back to 1867, faces the mountain, where the roots and origins of the connection between Greek myth and popular tradition can be found. This latter story tells of the relationship between Endymion, banished by Jupiter to the mountain, and the goddess Diana, who fell in love with him. The goddess has appeared in the coat of arms and the gonfalon of the municipality of Valdobbiadene since 1931.
