ValdobbiadeneJazz 2024 hosts VDBJ Ensemble feat Piero Odorici and Gianluca Carollo.
ValdobbiadeneJazz Ensemble, a musical project that is an ambassador for the Festival, returns to perform in Valdobbiadene with two exceptional guests, saxophonist Piero Odorici and trumpeter Gianluca Carollo.
This is a particularly important year for their careers following the release of their first album as an ensemble and the wonderful experiences on tour and at ValdobiadeneJazz Young & School. Nicola, Christian, and Lucio bring back their sounds to ValdobbiadeneJazz in a concert featuring one of the best saxophonists around. Piero Odorici has collaborated and recorded with great names in American jazz such as Cedar Walton, George Cables, Eumir Deodato, Diane Schuur, Curtis Fuller, Cyrus Chestnut, Buster Williams, Lenny Withe, Eddie Henderson, Joe Lovano, Steve Lacy, Billy Hart, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Peter Bernstein, Jack McDuff, Mingus Big Band, Vincent Herring, Joey Di Francesco, just to name a few.
In this concert, the lineup of the ValdobbiadeneJazz Ensemble will also see a change, featuring a second prominent guest: instead of Michele Tedesco, there will be Gianluca Carollo, an experienced trumpeter and instructor of jazz ensemble music at the Conservatory Steffani in Castelfranco Veneto, who has collaborated with Carla Bley, Maria Schneider, Billy Cobham, and Enrico Rava.
