Villa dei Cedri was built in the early 1800s as a spinning mill and residence for the Bottoia family. In 1840, after the arrival of Pietro Piva, an expert silk weaver from San Martino di Lupari, the factory was restored and the east wing was added. In the following years, the building was no longer able to accommodate the large machinery of the spinning mill, and thus the company was moved to the premises of the Counts of Collalto. The name comes from an impressive cedar that has towered over the lush park surrounding the Villa for more than a hundred years. The current appearance dates back to the early 1900s when it became the residence of the Piva family until well into the century. For many years, it hosted, in August, the event "Calici di stelle," and for many years it was the venue, in early September, for the "Mostra Nazionale degli Spumanti," the oldest and most important exhibition in the wine sector. In recent years, its halls have also hosted the artistic Nativity scene of Valdobbiadene, which changes its appearance with each edition. Many are the various exhibitions, conferences, concerts, and events that the villa has hosted and continues to host. It is now the headquarters of the Association for the Protection of the UNESCO Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.
The villa is surrounded by a large park open to the public.
