ValdobbiadeneJazz - Main Concert
9:00 PM - Auditorium Celestino Piva, Valdobbiadene
The Spiritual Trio is one of Fabrizio Bosso's most fascinating projects, in which the trumpeter, along with organist Alberto Marsico and drummer Alessandro Minetto, pays tribute to black music, expressed in its Gospel and Spiritual variant. The first album, “Spiritual” (2011), tackled a repertoire rooted in the black folk tradition (Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen, Down By The Riverside, When the Saint go Marchin’ in). In “Pur++ple” (2013), the trio chose to further explore that world in search of a repertoire – both traditional and modern – in which to best express itself (A Change is Gonna Come, Wide in the Water, Go Down Moses).
With the third album, “Someday” (2019), the next step was to further expand the search for pieces that, while not coming from the Spiritual tradition, could be reinterpreted in that key and, above all, be appreciated in the now unmistakable sound of the Trio. (Bridge over trouble water, Lawns, Someday We All Be Free).
The concerts of the Spiritual Trio traverse the entire journey, maintaining the most significant pieces from the various albums, in a skillful balance between tradition and innovation, thus leading listeners on a journey full of discoveries and emotions.
