Cammino di Sant'Antonio. The Rodigina stage of the long journey.
The Cammino di Sant'Antonio runs from Venice or Camposampiero to the sanctuary of La Verna, in the province of Arezzo, where the friar received the stigmata in 1224. In this journey, divided into stages, Rovigo is in the third stage, marked by a route of 21.3 km and about 6 hours of walking.
The ideal stage starts from the Church of the Blessed Virgin of Help, known as La Rotonda, which we leave behind, heading towards the church of San Bortolo, following the road that leads to the bike path along the Adigetto. We reach Sant’Apollinare and, after passing the church, continue towards Canalbianco. At this point, the route indicates a possible extension to Bosaro, to visit the church of San Sebastiano, where the remains of Blessed Maria Bolognesi are buried.
Length: 26.8 km variant for Pontecchio Polesine / 30.2 variant for Bosaro
Departure: Boara Polesine (Rovigo)
Arrival: Polesella
Route conditions: completely flat hike on an asphalted bike path and low-traffic roads; stretch on unpaved road in the variant to Bosaro.
