ValdobbiadeneJazz 2024 hosts Five for Trane.
Among the greatest saxophonists in the history of jazz, John Coltrane was a cornerstone of the genre in the sixties, closing the bop era and opening the free jazz era. Saxophonists Robert Bonisolo and Piero Odorici, supported by a formidable rhythm section, featuring Luca Mannutza on piano, Lorenzo Conte on double bass, and Pasquale Fiore on drums, have come together to create a project centered on the music of the great John Coltrane. The repertoire includes pieces from Coltrane's early period, which are more closely related to bebop, as well as some compositions from the modal period.
