Vincenzo Pojana, who already owned a corner house between contrà Do Rode and Corso Palladio, purchased the building opposite and in 1561 requested permission to unite the two structures with an arch that would span contrà Do Rode.
The construction took place between 1564 and 1566: the two buildings were connected through an interesting solution that crosses the underlying street.
The façade of the new palace is not symmetrical with the lower floor (this can still be seen despite the alterations that the building has undergone for the opening of shops): in fact, the two arches on the right were intended to serve as an entrance.
The noble floor is characterized by six giant Corintian pilasters and five tabernacle windows along with another five square ones above.
Palladio's authorship is suggested by the existence of a design by the Master related to this building and preserved in Great Britain.
In contrà San Tommaso, the sixteenth-century section of the palace that Bonifacio Pojana began to erect is visible, based on a project, according to the attribution by Bortolan and Rumor (1919), of Andrea Palladio or more likely of Domenico Groppino.
According to historical reconstruction, the work was interrupted by the nobleman's death around 1576.
In the first half of the eighteenth century, Francesco Muttoni designed a new building commissioned by Count Alessandro Pojana.
