The historic Farmacia al Duomo, located in a fine 16th-century building, follows the typical porticoed house style of medieval Padua. It is situated at the corner of Via Monte di Pietà and Via Daniele Manin, in the heart of Padua's historic center, and is mentioned in texts as FARMACIA "al Pomo d'oro," one of the oldest "Spetiarie" of Padua. This place was renovated in 1528 on the site of a pre-existing 13th-century Carrarese building.
Inside, there are Neo-Gothic wooden furniture and shelving painted in beige tones and lacquered in gold. The most interesting and probably most valuable feature is represented by the ancient ceramic jars dating back to the mid-18th century that adorn the top shelf.
The Farmacia al Duomo in Padua represents a fundamental reference point for citizen well-being, not only for the dispensing of medications, para-pharmaceuticals, and natural remedies, but also through a wide range of health services.
In particular, it is possible to receive diagnostic services and perform blood tests, thanks to the capillary self-sampling method, a painless practice that allows the collection of a few drops of blood, sufficient for checking values such as cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugar, or to conduct a complete check-up. It is also possible to perform numerous self-diagnostic tests with absolute practicality and high precision.
