The building is distinguished by its neo-Gothic façade, characterized by a large central portal and two pointed arch windows on the sides, topped by an elegant balustrade in Art Nouveau style. Inside, a vast bright hall opens up thanks to the large glass covering supported by cast iron columns, which create an airy and refined atmosphere. The columns framed the white marble counters, with sloped tops, where fresh fish was displayed, keeping alive the original function of the market.
After a careful restoration completed at the end of the 20th century, the Pescheria Nuova has been transformed into a multipurpose space, now used for temporary exhibitions and cultural events. The structure preserves the architectural features and typical materials of the era, representing a valuable example of the integration of aesthetics and industrial functionality, as well as an important reference point for the urban and social history of Rovigo.
