Although the Casone has nothing to do with the traditional hunting lodges of the lagoon, it fits perfectly into the lagoon landscape, almost enhancing its beauty.
A well-tended garden, where there are many species of plants and fruit trees, adorns the entire complex, which includes, in addition to the main building, a barn and a lookout tower for hunting game, with an external spiral staircase, always equipped with binoculars to admire the surrounding landscape and, why not, also spot some particular species of birds.
A marble plaque placed on the left wall informs us that the casone was built between 1923 and 1928 at the behest of the Vicentine Mario Malvezzi, according to the design of the architect Duilio Torres, a great enthusiast of Nordic architecture, who designed and constructed this Dutch jewel (perhaps encouraged by the owner as well) that is unique not only on the outside but also on the inside.
The peculiarity: each room is painted a different color, assigned to guests who spent the night waiting for the hunting expedition. They had to sleep in the room whose color was matched to the hunting barrel and the observation post assigned to them by the head of the hunt. The rooms on the ground floor are equipped with a fireplace where numerous sayings and proverbs in dialect are written on each hood.
