The Historical Museum of Merry-go-round and Popular Entertainment in Bergantino is a one-of-a-kind research and documentation centre in Italy, concerning the variegated world of popular entertainment in the square: from the medieval mercantile fair to the 19th century amusement park with its traditional itinerant shows (the theatre of masks, puppets and marionettes, the circus, the travelling cinema, the first merry-go-rounds with ritual origins), up to today’s hyper-technological Luna Park with its dizzying attractions.
