Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II

Once known as Piazza Grande since the 13th century, it has always been considered the heart of the historic center of Rovigo.
Since the medieval era, it has been the hub of city life, surrounded by porticoes that still give elegance and harmony to the urban space.
The square is a place rich in history, a stage for civil, religious, and cultural events, and represents the meeting point between the city's historical memory and its contemporary vitality.

Around the square stand some of the most significant buildings in Rovigo, testifying to the various eras and dominations that have influenced the area: among these, the 17th-century Palazzo Roncale, the majestic Palazzo Roverella, now home to important art exhibitions, the Loggia dei Nodari, Palazzo della Gran Guardia, and the Accademia dei Concordi.
