Grotte del Caglieron

Between Fregona and Osigo, after passing through the village of Mezza Villa, with a very short detour to Piai, it is recommended to see those singular formations known as the Caglieron Caves: both natural and artificial caves. The deepest and most picturesque one has been formed by the waters of the Caglieron stream; the others are stone-cutting quarries where "piera dolza" was extracted in the past, used for door and window frames. A walking path, through walkways and wooden bridges, connects the various caves and ends near an old mill, now transformed into an inn.
