The ice palace of Asiago, known as Hodegart from the location where it stands, can undoubtedly be considered one of the most famous symbols of the community of the Seven Municipalities Plateau. Due to its aesthetics and environmental location, it is regarded as one of the most characteristic facilities in the national landscape. The uncovered artificial rink (30 x 60 meters) was built in record time in 1977.
Nine years later, however, Hodegart registered the first and impressive modification in its history with the construction of the laminated wood roof. Over the years, starting from 1992, Hodegart has undergone further adjustments to its makeover (new concrete stands, changing rooms, gym, services, offices, bar…) which have enhanced its value, overall beauty, and functionality.
Hodegart has a seating capacity of 1,975 and, in addition to ice hockey, hosts exhibitions and competitions in figure skating, speed skating, and short track. On special occasions, however, artistic or musical shows also take place inside the structure.
In 1998, the work on the complete closure of the stadium and the entrance building was completed, thereby providing greater comfort to spectators.
Since 1992, Hodegart has undergone further work on the stands (in concrete), increasing its capacity to the current 2,200 seats (out of a total of 3,000), along with upgrades to changing rooms, the construction of a gym, services, offices, and a bar. In 1998, the work on the complete enclosure of the stadium and the entrance building was completed, thus ensuring greater comfort for spectators.
Finally, during the summer of 2003, the ice palace was fitted with new railings that delimit the rink and a dehumidification system, representing the first important step (the second will be the heating system) to further improve the structure, allowing it to fully play its role as a meeting and socialization point not only for sports enthusiasts but for the entire community and the guests of Asiago and the Plateau. Regarding refreshment services, the stadium features a bar that remains open throughout the ice stadium's opening period, usually from June to April.
Inside, in addition to the sports facilities serving the teams, the administrative and executive apparatus of Asiago Hockey is located.
The entrance building houses the administration offices and equipped meeting rooms and media meeting rooms, where all press conferences held by the club typically take place.
This availability of spaces allows for maintaining close relationships with sponsors and the press, before, during, and after the home games of the first team.
The press has access to modern equipment, essential for efficient and comfortable work, such as telephone, fax, and computers with internet connection (even in the press box).
The equipped VIP room, with a direct view of the playing rink, is a reference point and meeting place for authorities, sponsors, and collaborators of Asiago Hockey.
