The ‘dream route’, of which Pieve di Soligo is the twenty-fifth stage, was first followed in 1973 by the German Ludwig Grassler and two friends, who crossed the Alps from Munich to Venice on foot. Based on simplicity and tranquillity, the three friends mapped out an itinerary comprising beautiful walks through unique meadows and forests, which continues to be walked by numerous people every year.
The twenty-fifth stage, which passes through Pievigino territory, starts from Revine Lago and passes through Refrontolo, before reaching Barbisano. From here, the route accompanies hikers through the woods to the ruins of Collalto Castle, before proceeding along the curve of the hills to Colfosco and finally reaching Ponte della Priula, the stage finish.
This is an opportunity to appreciate the hilly UNESCO heritage area, admire the imposing Villa of the Pievigina soprano Toti dal Monte and visit the delightful church of Santa Caterina in Barbisano, before continuing on into the countryside.
