The Fiumicello Park, a few steps from the historic center of Montagnana, is an environmental and landscape reality of great interest.
The 2 km long path that winds within it, offers green areas, wooded areas, small lakes and a large, authentic and suggestive view of the area and the surrounding cultivated countryside. The luxuriant nature of the park constitutes important sheltering habitats for wild animals and nesting for many species of birds.
The place takes its name from the homonymous watercourse, a real hydraulic artifact, dating back to the Middle Ages, built not only for defensive purposes - the water filled the ancient moat that developed around the city walls -, but also to favor irrigation, feed the hemp macerators, run the mills and promote navigation and trade.
