In Mossano, an artificial channel flows along the Calbin district, fed by the waters in the Fontana area and the Scaranto stream.
Utilizing this abundant water flow, 12 mills were built between Fontana and the end of Calbin street, now called ‘Contrà dei Munari’.
Some mills are still operational, while others only have the wheel and the associated rustic buildings remaining.
To reach the site, start from the center of Mossano, keeping the church on the right, proceed for about 100 m and then turn left onto a cobbled street.
At the bottom of the valley, you begin with the Molino Cuchèi, a building transformed into a residence in 1970, but which still retains its origins with two ancient stone grindstones leaning against the wall.
The journey continues with a beautifully restored mill, the Mulino Mucchietto, featuring a large wooden wheel that is still operational.
Crossing the Dorsale dei Berici road, you arrive at the Communal Fountain, which in the past supplied water to all the mills; from here, you continue into the dense forest along the path marked as no. 81.
