With the activation of 4 new hotspots, the free public WiFi service officially started. The coverage of the WiFi4EU free wifi network has also expanded in the hamlets. There are now a total of 13 points dedicated to free wifi. WiFi4EU is a European Union initiative that the Bardolino Municipality has joined to provide free Wi-Fi access points for the benefit of thousands of municipalities throughout Europe.
Under the initiative, WiFi4EU beneficiaries can connect in their own country and easily access all hotspots in Europe, without the need for registration or passwords. The European Commission stipulated that the network name (SSID) must be 'WiFi4EU' and that it will be the same everywhere, making WiFi4EU hotspots recognisable throughout Europe.
Connecting to the WiFi4EU network is easy. Citizens and visitors will be able to connect for free, by searching among the WiFi connections of their device, in the vicinity of public coverage areas, the one named "WiFi4EU": they will be redirected to a portal, where they will be able to connect for the whole day, with a simple click, after accepting the terms of use.
