A guided tour in the heart of Villa di Maser to read together architecture, painting, and landscape through three protagonists of the Venetian Renaissance: Andrea Palladio, Paolo Veronese, and the Barbaro family.
The visit primarily leads to the discovery of the monumental architecture designed by Palladio for Daniele and Marcantonio Barbaro. The rooms of the Villa then introduce to the famous cycle of frescoes by Paolo Veronese, where scenes, characters, and painted details expand the real spaces through perspectives, illusionistic openings, and figures that seem to lean out into the halls.
The path continues to the Tempietto, one of the last works designed by Andrea Palladio. This environment represents one of the distinctive elements of the experience: the Tempietto is indeed accessible exclusively by participating in the guided tour “Between Villa and Tempietto”.
The visit thus allows observing in a single itinerary the dialogue between Palladian architecture and pictorial decoration, understanding how the environments of the Villa were conceived as part of a unified project, closely connected to the culture and life of the Venetian countryside in the sixteenth century.
