Chiesa Parrocchiale di Santa Margherita
Via Roma, 32 , S. Margherita d'Adige PD - 35040
The church, dedicated to Santa Margherita, was mentioned for the first time in 1221 as a religious pertinence under control of the parish church of Megliadino San Fidenzio. In his visit, on the 14th July of 1482, although not yet an independent body, it was defined like a Parish Church by the bishop Barozzi. In 1522 there is a testimony of its expansion, in response to the needs of a steadily growing population. Further works became necessary over time, in particular in 1686, when a strong thunderstorm destroyed the bell tower. The last important restoration work dates after the Second World War, due to the serious damages suffered by the church during the conflict.
