Challenging route, to be done by car and on foot, feasible in a whole day.
Villa Pisani Bonetti, Bagnolo di Lonigo: included in the UNESCO World Heritage list, was designed in 1541 by a young Andrea Palladio who drew inspiration from the volumes of classical buildings, reinterpreting their austere monumentality. The villa and the renewed Barchessa host international cultural and contemporary art events organized by the Bonetti Bedeschi family.
Rocca Pisana: designed by Vincenzo Scamozzi in 1567, the Rocca Pisana is considered an absolute masterpiece of the Venetian Renaissance. Its unmistakable volumes, with the elegant octagonal dome, harmoniously integrate into the hill that crowns the city of Lonigo.
Villa San Fermo: the monumental Entrance of the Rivers (designed by Francesco Bagnara in the 19th century) is the honor entrance of the 19th-century villa of the Giovanelli princes. The work takes its name from the statues placed above the arches, which allegorically represent the main Italian rivers. The background is made scenic by a complex play of romantic caves.
Santuario di Santa Maria dei Miracoli: the Benedictine monks built their monastery in Madonna in the 11th century. After the miracle of the painted Virgin, in 1486, it was the Olivetans who erected the magnificent complex with its three churches, which soon became a very frequented destination for pilgrims. The museum of the Sanctuary preserves 353 precious wooden ex-voto pieces collected between 1486 and 1893.
