Chiesetta di San Rocco
Via S. Rocco , Trissino - 36070
The parish church dedicated to Saint Roch was built after the terrible Manzonian plague, as a memorial and as a thanksgiving for the escaped danger. The oratory had been erected in the 15th century, but the continuous floods of the nearby Agno stream often caused damage or destruction. It was then reconstructed in 1630, in a very simple manner, with a gable roof, by the community, to ward off the plague; it was dedicated to Saint Roch, the protector against the fearsome scourge. In 1941, the roof was redone and the bell tower was rebuilt at the upper part. Finally, it was restored in 1987 and in the second half of the 2000s.
