The parish church dedicated to Saint Andrew has very ancient origins, although poorly documented; the most significant testimonies consist of a holy water font from 1274, a statue of Our Lady of Grace from the 15th century, and a pleasant ciborium created by Niccolò da Cornedo in 1438. The parish church, located in the hamlet of Selva, was built in the early 14th century and dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene; it also underwent numerous transformations over time. In 1966, the Bishop publicly expressed his intention, and to highlight the link with the mother parish, he said that the new ecclesial entity would be named after Saint Andrew the Apostle, the brother of Peter. Thus, the Curia began searching for land to build the new parish church. In early 1970, at the invitation of the Curia, the Parish of San Pietro purchased a plot of land between Via Pizzocaro (the main road of the district) and Via Santa Bertilla: the first step that would lead to the establishment of the parish was accomplished.  The beauty of the Church of Saint Andrew does not lie in the harmony and elegance of its style, but in what its location represents. It cannot truly be defined as a traditional church, respectful of classic lines, tied to decorations and complex religious scenographies; rather, it is a church that adheres to the lines of liturgical renewal expressed by the Second Vatican Council: the rediscovery of the faithful as the true church, the living church. The building, in fact, stands as a witness of presence among the people and of direct contact with the faithful. On December 1, 1990, the Bishop of Vicenza, Mons. Pietro Nonis, officiated the solemn consecration of the Church of Saint Andrew: another milestone in the history of the parish.
