The presence of the pharmacy is documented in a register of the Municipal archive dating back to 1398, making it the oldest historic shop in Treviso.
It is no coincidence that it is located at one of the main access points to the city in the past, as it still is today, therefore in one of the city areas where trade first developed. We find it mentioned in a document from 1468, which also notes the name of the pharmacist: Luigi da Venezia. The current Art Nouveau furnishings date back to the early 1900s, when the pharmacy was owned by Dr. Arturo Cappellini, and in 1910 it passed to Fernando Torzo, known as Campaner, who was succeeded in 1920 by Dr. Cesare Simoncello. In 1940 it was taken over by Dr. Athos Scalco, who managed it for about thirty years, until Dr. Domenico Fantin took over and named the pharmacy "Ponte San Martino." Today, the pharmacy is run by his son Dr. Fabio and his collaborators.
