Monumento a Giuseppe Garibaldi
Piazza Garibaldi , Rovigo - 45100
Upon the announcement of the disappearance of Giuseppe Garibaldi, on June 3, 1882, some young people from Rovigo who had served in the Garibaldian army, including Giovanni Battista Casalini and Remigio Piva, pushed to implement initiatives aimed at his commemoration. In this context, the idea of erecting a monument to the famous historical figure, which would perpetuate his memory, deeds, and intentions, took shape; the endeavor succeeded and culminated in 1896 with the creation of the bronze equestrian monument of Garibaldi by Ettore Ferrari.
