It is the only large monument that remains of the seven towers of the castle. 28 meters high and built on the right side of the Livenza. Above the clock, renewed in 1879, there was a hole through which the condemned were lowered into the prison below. Below the clock there are some remains of frescoes; the house built at the foot of the tower bears, between two oval windows, the inscription: "built from the foundations on March 9, 1187.”
On the south facade, the remains of a fresco depicting 4 female figures: Fame, Charity, Justice, and Peace. In the center, the coat of arms of the Venetian podestà Zaccariol. Above the door of the Monte di Pietà, founded by the Venetians around 1400, with the confiscation of the assets of the Jewish community, a rare specimen of the “Leon in moeca”. Soft stone, the lion sacrificed in a roundel, terrifying appearance, closed book. The greeting: “Pax tibi Marce Evangelista Meus” is missing. It is therefore assumed that this work was made in wartime.
The civic tower can be visited on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm and Sundays from 10 am to 6:30 pm or by request.
Inside, it houses the museum of peasant civilization and craftsmanship of the upper Livenza.
