In ancient times, this tower was one of the entrances to the city-fortress. It was transformed into a bell tower and equipped with a large clock only in the seventeenth century. It is characterized by a quadrangular structure, divided into four floors, and it is equipped with battlements. The door is made with a pointed arch.
The tower is located between two buildings, inserted in the urban context. After the earthquake of 2012, it suffered structural collapses, showing significant cracks especially in the upper part of the spires. Unfortunately, even today, the tower is not accessible for guided tours due to the lack of internal works such as the renovation of the internal staircase that allows access to all visitable floors.
