In 1995, during the development work of the residential area called "Serragli", a completely buried artifact dating back to the First World War was uncovered.
It was a fortified bunker, one of the first examples of construction in concrete, built along the railway line that ran from Thiene to Arsiero as a depot for weapons and military equipment for the front. The Chiuppano station was a distribution point for materials for the troops on the front of the plateaus.
The Municipal Administration decided to preserve the site of military archaeology, making it accessible to the public and securing the environment. Additionally, a room in the nearby building complex was designated as a museum to illustrate the function of the recovered item and to retrieve war relics, still numerous and significant, existing with weapon associations and private individuals.
The management of the museum area was entrusted, in 1999, to the local Association of the Infantry, which had long been collecting period material and, above all, received a substantial donation from the family of a worthy Thiene recoverer, Mario Maddalena, upon his passing.
The increasing contributions of donations have allowed the Association of the Infantry to make available to the public - particularly to school groups - a series of items, demilitarized weapons, documents, and testimonies dating back to the First World War.
