The Bertolin family has been in the restaurant business for more than 170 years, handing down the passion and tradition of Venetian cuisine from generation to generation. Some documents from the mid-19th century show that the Bertolin family, with its ancestor Gio Batta Bertolin practiced the bettola business even before 1849, the year of his death and the passing of the business to his son Valentino.
The earliest photos found depict the building on Via Altichiero around the 1920s, when the trattoria was located near the only road connecting Padua and Bassano, thus becoming a point of reference for all the merchants arriving by wagon from the north. Having withstood the two world wars, the trattoria has maintained over the years the classic arched structure typical of the houses of the past, resulting to date as one of the oldest restaurants in Padua and the Veneto region.
