A unique mosaic of environments in the Po Delta: the Porto Caleri Coastal Botanical Garden extends over more than 44 hectares and traverses three generations of dunes: the oldest and most consolidated, those mobile shaped by the wind, and the younger embryonic dunes connected by suspended wooden walkways.
In just a few steps, you can move from the pine forest to the coastal woodland, from the inter-dunal wetlands (home to the marsh turtle) to the dunes that descend towards the sea.
It is an area recognized as a *Site of Community Importance (SCI)* by the European Union, among the few in Italy where all the typical coastal environments coexist in such a small space.
You will be accompanied by a naturalist guide from the Veneto Regional Park of the Po Delta, who also explains how the path was built respecting the environment: no plants have ever been cut to "open" a view of the sea; instead, the path has adapted to the landscape.
