Corte di Ca' Cappello
The patrician court of the Venetian nobles Cappello, of which the remains of the barchessa known as "the Vatican" can still be admired, consists of a ruined architectural complex dating back to the 17th century. In the immediate vicinity, the church dedicated to San Giovanni Battista is the oldest in the municipality of Portoviro. This place of worship was owned by the Cappello family and dates back to 1550; it remained under their patronage for four centuries until the mid-20th century.
