The trail Campana Pierini Valle dell’Orsa Boscati Busa Grande Siese is named after the localities touched upon in this itinerary.
It is an easy route but not suitable for families since the damage from the storm Vaia from two years ago is still visible.
However, the landscape viewed from one of the viewpoints in the Valle dell’Orsa area is truly wonderful.
Start of the route at contrà Campana towards località Pierini
The trail Campana Pierini Valle dell’Orsa Boscati Busa Grande Siese itself represents the passage through some localities and districts of Tonezza. To start the route, one must first head to the area of contrà Campana and continue towards the Albergo Ciclamino and the restaurant Al Cacciatore. Upon reaching the latter, and at the end of the paved road, one can notice a cart track leading towards località Pierini.
Passage through the "Viale degli Innamorati" until the viewpoint
Continuing, one enters the forest on a tree-lined avenue called “Viale degli innamorati”, named for the usual flow of couples returning home after dining at the restaurant Al Cacciatore. At some point, the trail begins to narrow before opening up into a gradual ascent that concludes more decisively. Additionally, the path is lined with old trenches. Moving away from the main path, one may notice a viewpoint of Monte Summano with the inhabitants of Velo d’astico. Returning to the main trail, one begins walking through the woods in the Valle dell’Orsa.
The Busa Grande
From the start of the walk, one still notices the remnants of the famous Vaia storm that struck the northeastern region two years ago. Past the Valley, one encounters the Busa Grande, which is a dip in the terrain amidst the woods. From here, the path continues easily.
Return through the old farmhouses: the "Siese"
During this path, the trail intersects with the paved road leading to Monte Cimone, and after a few minutes, it will cut onto a dirt track towards the “Siese”. This nickname refers to the farmhouses of the residents in contrà Campana. The trail continues peacefully among beeches and firs until we find ourselves back at the starting point near the restaurant Al Cacciatore.
