Chiesa di San Rocco

The church of Saints Rocco and Domenico is located in Conegliano in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, in the area between Contrada Granda and the railway station. The church of San Rocco is a 17th century building, erected as an ex voto for the plague of the 1630s. It was then conceived as a baroque building joined to a convent of Dominican nuns, which lasted until the first decade of the 19th century. In the early twentieth century a new facade was added to the church, which was then restored in the 2000s. The exterior is of a composite style, the result of works from many eras. The current facade, from the twentieth century, is the work of Vincenzo Rinaldo with neoclassical features, decorated with a rose window in one quadrant and opened by two single lancet windows. The lower part has a portico supported by round arches, the central one has a tympanum and two Ionic columns.
Behind the structure there is a small bell tower with a mullioned window on each side at the level of the belfry, it ends in a crown and does not have a clock. The interior of the church has a single nave, also in a composite style. There are some noteworthy works such as The Mystical Marriage of Saint Catherine by Francesco Beccaruzzi and the fresco Apotheosis of Saints Rocco and Domenico by Giovanni De Min. On the choir in the counter façade there is an 1851 pipe organ by Giovan Battista De Lorenzi, which underwent several changes, the last by Luciano Stradiotto in 1994.
