Tucked between Piazza Ferretto and Via Poerio, Mestre’s former newspaper archive has found new life as a contemporary art space.
Since December 2024, it’s hosted a residency programme for ten emerging artists – a living lab for creative experimentation and cultural exchange.
Visitors are invited to take part in intimate studio visits, wander through open studios, or attend talks and presentations that offer a rare window into the creative process.
Run by Venice’s Civic Museums Foundation, the building also features a Literary Café: a welcoming two-storey space where locals and visitors gather.
Downstairs, there’s a café with indoor and outdoor tables for coffee breaks and casual meals; upstairs, a peaceful mezzanine lined with museum books is perfect for reading, co-working or informal meetups. Regular cultural events, co-curated with local groups, keep the space lively and connected to its community.
